Kırbıyık said: “Celebrations have always been very important in our country. Couples usually prefer to plan their wedding based on their budget, but receptions have been transformed from serving only snacks and drinks to receptions that serve dinner due to a decrease in costs.
This shows that wedding spending has increased in accordance with the economic conditions of the country and themed weddings, widely seen in the States, have brought variety to reception venues.” Kırbıyık added, “Although the number of weddings declined in 2011, the budget set aside for weddings in Turkey has increased and is expected to continue in the same way for 2012.” The “World of Marriage Fair 2011” took place in İstanbul in November and drew more than 200 companies from around the world and in excess of 60,000 couples who were trying to find something to make their wedding special.
